Environmental Conservations |
State the factors affecting the environment.
The biotic and abiotic factors affect the environment. The physical and chemical factors can adapt to the conditions of the environment among abiotic factors. Abiotic factors are either natural or manmade. The various interrelationships between different living organisms can also affect the environment. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, forest fires, cyclones, cloudbusting, drought, etc. change the environment.
State the types and examples of biodiversity.
Biodiversity is authenticated on the following three levels.
- Genetic diversity
Diversity among the organisms of the same species due to genetic differences is called genetic diversity.
- Species diversity
The difference between the various species is the species diversity.
- Ecosystem diversity.
For one reason, there may be different ecosystems such diversity in the ecosystem is called ecosystem diversity.
How can biodiversity be conserved?
Biodiversity can be sustained in the following ways.
- Preserving the unique species of plants and animals.
- Establishing national parks and sanctuaries we create habitats for animals and plants.
- Declaration of the bio reserves the area which is protected through conservation.
- Conservation protects the special spaces.
- Conservation of all flora and fauna.
- Strict observance of the acts and rules.
- Use of traditional knowledge and maintaining a record of traditional knowledge.
What do we determine from the life of Jadav Molai Peyang?
Jadav Molai Peyang is a common man who was just a simple forest worker. But he has a conscience about plants and tree plantations. He single-handedly planted thousands of trees. He conserves the barren patch of land into the forest which is spread over 1360 acres. For these plantations, he continuously worked. He has shown that a single determinant person can establish a new forest. We understand the value of hard work sincerity and devotion to nature through the story of Jadav Molai Peyang. Even a common man can contribute a lot to the conservation and protection of the environment by learning the story of Peyang.
Write the names of biodiversity Hotspots.
- In the entire world, 34 highly sensitive biodiversity spots are reported.
- These hotspots occupied 15.7 percent actor of the earth.
- However, currently, about 86% of the sensitive areas are already destroyed.
- Now about 2.3 % area of the earth still had touch-sensitive biodiversity spots.
- There are 1,50,000 plant species which are about 50% of the spaces in the world.
- Out of 135 species of animals, 85 species are located in the Jungle of Eastern reason in India,.
- About 1,500 endemic plant species are located in Western ghats.
- About 50,000 plant species out of the total plants in the world are said to be endemic.
What is biodiversity?
The richness of the living organism in nature due to the presence of varieties of organisms, ecosystems, and genetic variations within a species is called biodiversity.
Biodiversity occurs at different levels.
Biodiversity occurs at three different levels.
- Genetic diversity
Diversity is seen among the organisms of the same species due to genetic differences is called genetic diversity. Human beings are distinct from each other. No two animals and plants are exactly alike.
- Species diversity
The difference between the various species is the species diversity. All the species of plants, animals, and microbes are seen in any natural environment.
- Ecosystem diversity
For one reason, there may be different ecosystems, such diversity in the ecosystem is called ecosystem diversity. Ecosystems are natural or artificial. Every region shows different types of an ecosystem such as the aquatic, terrestrial, desert, or forest ecosystems. Each ecosystem has its own habitats with the resident flora and fauna.
Write a note on sacred groves.
The forest conserved as a sanctuary in the name of God by the society with special protection considered to be sacred is called sacred groves. These thick forests present in the Western ghats of India and the entire country. About 13000 sacred groves have been reported in India.
How can diversity be conserved?
- Protecting the rare species of organism
- Establishing national parks and sanctuaries.
- Declaring some reasons as bio-reserve per
- Projects for conservation of special species.
- Conjuring all plants and animals.
- Observing the rules.
- Maintaining the record of traditional knowledge.
Write notes on Molai jungle.
Jadav Molai Peyang planted 20 bamboo plant plantlets. In 1979 the local social forestry department began social afforestation project on 200 hectares of land. As a result of his continuous work at planting and caring for the trees, the barren area witnessed the forest cover over 360 acres. He works hard for 30 years and he had been awarded the prestigious Padma Shri Award by the government of India for this and parallel work. Now it is well known as the Molai jungle.
